About Spirit Horse Equine Rescue & Education Center

Spirit Horse Equine Rescue is a volunteer‑run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to giving equines a second chance at life. Since 2008, our mission has been to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, unwanted, and slaughter‑bound horses, while also providing education in Natural Horsemanship to help people understand how horses think, learn, and communicate.

Every horse who enters our care receives individualized attention, compassionate handling, and a commitment that lasts a lifetime. If an adopter can no longer keep their horse, that horse always has a safe place to return — no exceptions. This lifelong promise is at the heart of who we are.

Our rehabilitation approach focuses on the whole horse — physical, mental, and emotional well‑being. Through Natural Horsemanship, we help each equine rebuild trust, confidence, and connection, giving them the best possible chance at a healthy, happy future.

Spirit Horse is funded entirely through donations, sponsorships, grants, and community support. Every contribution directly impacts the horses who depend on us for safety, care, and a new beginning.
